The Japanese manufacturer of optics and reprography products
Increase the Site Network’s overall efficiency

The client is a global-leading Japanese manufacturer of optics and reprography products. They hold roughly a 70-per cent share of the global endoscope market, estimated to be worth approximately US$2.5 billion. Its global headquarters are located in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan.
The client was looking forward to setting up critical business premises, AKA delivery centre, which can accumulate a large audience of 500+ users from different streams. They wanted to implement the Inter and Intra network and IT infrastructure to be highly reliable, extremely secure and robust in performance, security and availability.
Nevertheless, in today's massively changing world, they have always wanted to adopt the bleeding edge technology, which will have the upper hand in minimizing or bottlenecking security threats/loopholes. To avoid or minimize the impact of outer/inner security attacks and other malicious threats, there was a need to apply multiple tiers of securities over the network, which should not be only dependent on the latest firewalls, firmware and antivirus, but should also support by controlling access, availability and usage within/over the network.
It was required to create a safe passage for the users to have complete-ledged working network environment serves an efficient network and other IT infrastructure. In addition to that, along with world-class enterprise-level network standards demanded IT infrastructure setup with appropriate controlling measures where client systems can communicate with utmost encryptions and by following other best practices of security compatibility and agility to adopt new technology.
Office Infrastructure Setup
Styx is a trusted partner to help them deliver secure and easy-to-deploy solutions to their customer. Styx has identified a complex solution to serve the client with the best fit for their office IT infrastructure-related requirements.
This solution was also based on information shared by the client Network SME to build a Greenfield solution. Concerning their IT infrastructure need, Styx assisted them in procuring the assets, such as Network devices including switches, hubs, routers, LAN cables, access points, servers also, laptops, firmware licenses, applications, racks and other necessary equipment etc.
Styx was responsible for setting up the server room and connection from scratch; hence we have helped them set up a couple of Cisco Core switches which were configured in vPC pair and provided 10G Speed non- blocking uplinks/downlinks to other layers. It was planned to carry out the high availability of the network in case of multiple failures. Later, these core layer switches were connected to access layer distribution switches to provide workload access to high-speed uplinks.
We used Cisco SDWAN technology for connectivity to remote sites utilizing MPLS and internet connectivity using ISP internet links for inbound access. VLan solution has been carried out for wireless network access. Therefore, multiple access points have been configured and managed using Cisco wireless controllers.
Styx has ensured the implementation of appropriate authenticators, such as ISE, AAA and radius server, etc., to strengthen the security by access management. On top of that, we have followed best practices like mac filtering and user authentication by Active Directory to enhance security. We helped configure the Cisco Firewalls with appropriate policy restriction rules and next-generation firewall features required in today's security environment to be effective. It helped to provide the most up-to-date technology, improved support, additional network capacity and significantly enhanced information security. Also, a Monitoring solution has been implemented with SNMP protocol to send traps from network devices to the Monitoring system for performance and capacity management. Cloud-based Splunk application has been used to capture the Syslog of network devices.
To enhance security in a wider range, every client machine has been incorporated with Bit locker TPM end-to-end encryption. The server has been configured with the required configuration setup. By considering the security risk, Styx never compromises with patching and monitoring all the configuration items. SolarWinds, Splunk, and QRadar SIEM (IBM) have been considered for further NOC operations and monitoring. Styx had the expertise to set up all solutions to meet the security needs and the performance requirement. Patching is the most critical aspect of achieving security strength via regular updates and analysis of the compatibilities of devices. Local SCCM Distribution server has been installed to deploy the Laptop/PC images, Pushing Packages, Updating patches.
Also, we helped the client to configure and prepare the laptops/pcs and equipment for their BAU according to organizational group policies and work environment.

A Valuable Difference:
The implementation resulted in a more consistent infrastructure and a central monitoring setup. Styx was able to fulfil the client's requirement before a stipulated time. We could improve the operational efficiency of the whole site network of the customer by establishing seamless dependencies.
We ensured security, reliability and high availability by proper network segregation, access control, performance monitoring and following best security practices.
