The client is a renowned fashion brand which is headquartered in London, England. The Company has its spread globally, which is not only limited to United Kingdom but also cover 30+ international countries. Being one of the market leaders, the client was looking to improve segmentation and security across their Wide Area Network (WAN) estate as a first step in the transition to a PCI-compliant infrastructure. In addition, the client was also looking to address some of the manageability and scalability issues they have faced with their current design and provide a product that offers a foundation for future innovation.

The client was not only looking for a trusted partner to complete the job but was also looking for other value-added services. The main challenge was migrating their store PC systems to Windows 10 enterprise edition without losing their existing data and rolling out the Meraki MX firewall to upgrade network security and capability. Also, provide onsite support and coordinate with global counterparts to complete the implementation for a total of 79 stores across Hong Kong [3], Japan [44] and China [32].

Cisco Meraki implementation and Windows update

This solution was planned in such a manner that both the activities had undergone hand to hand with the help of an Onsite Engineer who was an essential factor and worked as eye and foot for remote teams to complete this implementation successfully. This activity was conducted to keep the network outage minimal so that it won't affect the BAU operations of the store on a large scale.

Parallely, Styx has helped store by migrating their systems one by one from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Styx has restored all the data and configurations from old to new systems. Styx has helped to increase the system's capabilities by adding additional RAMs to run faster (response and compute). It minimized the potential risks and backdoor entries. It keeps the system up-to-date and assists in eliminating unforeseen threats to the organization.

On the other hand, the Implementation of Cisco Meraki has strengthened the network security for organizations and ensured a secure PCI-compliant infrastructure. It majorly increased the reliability and performance of the existing network.
